One Pot Chicken with Creamy Pasta

This blog was 10 years old last month and it completely passed me by! Stunned I’ve managed to keep it going this long to be honest. I don’t think people even read food blogs anymore and a lot of my favourite bloggers have stopped publishing new recipes. But as I’m not a video type person […]

Vegetable Bake with Mash

I haven’t shared a new recipe in almost a month, which is most unlike me. Despite lockdown and all this *gestures wildly at the whole world*, I have had quite a hectic few weeks. I’ve been lucky to have 2 family weddings in the last week. It has been such a joy to have time […]

Chorizo and Mushroom Pasta

I usually make a pasta dish once a week, given that they can be quick and comforting. It can be easy to get into a rut so I try to make something different as often as I can. The problem is that I love a tomato based pasta sauce like this simple one but himself loves a […]

Beef Stroganoff

Loaded Twice Baked Potatoes

Last week Elizabeth from Life on Hushabye Farm posted a pic on Instagram of her baked potatoes and I realised I hadn’t made them in ages. So at the weekend I made a blast of my Loaded Twice Baked Potatoes. I was glad to have them when I came home dejected from watching Munster crash […]

Crab Ravioli with Lemon Butter Sauce

Crab and pasta is not a new concept. In fact, I think there are recipes in at least three of my cookbooks for some form of crab linguine. From Nigella Summer to the River Cafe Cookbook there is some combination of crab meat, pasta, chilli and lemon. The flavours are great together and it is […]

Mushrooms on Toast

Two blog posts in one week – you lucky things! It’s more beige food but trust me beige can be utterly delicious. And yes, I really am posting a recipe for Mushrooms on Toast.

Pea and Broccoli Soup

Nigella has a recipe in Simply Nigella for a nice Pea and Broccoli Soup. It looks very fresh and very healthy. This recipe is not quite as healthy. It’s not bad for you or anything, I’ve just used stock and a little dairy. And then I stuck cheesy croutons on top.
