Chocolate Brownies
This is another recipe from the wonderful Nigella Christmas. I promise that will be the end of my sweet treats recipes for a while and back to the proper business of real food. Well, for a week or so anyway!
I was a little reluctant to try this dessert from Nigella’s Forever Summer. I’m not a big fan of white chocolate as I find it a bit sweet. However the passionfruit is sharp enough to cut through the chocolate, making this a really pleasant mousse.

Ok I admit it, this is blood orange curd. Purely because they are still available. But you can use ordinary oranges to make it. I had never even tasted a fruit curd up to a couple of years ago and now I love them.
This recipe started out because I had some left over crème fraiche that I needed to use up. I saw some recipes for baked eggs that had cream in them and I decided to try with the crème fraiche instead. It would be slightly healthier if nothing else!
While I am a big coffee drinker – believe me, I’m not civil until I’ve had my morning cup – I’m not usually a fan of coffee in desserts. I’ve seen a few comments recently on various coffee cakes so I thought I’d give the one in Nigella’s Kitchen a go.
